Samaritan Services was organized as a non-profit organization December 11, 1987.
Today we serve approximately 25,000 residents in the Sun City Center community Association, Kings Point, Sun Towers, Freedom Plaza and Aston Gardens.
Funding, then as now, is through contributions, donations and grants from the Sun City Center, Kings Point, Freedom Plaza communities, various clubs, groups and foundations.
Samaritan Services transportation began with ninety seven volunteers providing rides to doctor appointments, shopping, pharmacies and banking. Presently we have one hundred fifty volunteers.
Samaritan Services has two cars providing in town Samaritan Ride and five cars for out of town ride.
The funding we receive pays for fuel, insurance, licensing, repairs, office materials and equipment, and building rent
SCC Men's Club buys a car for Samaritan Services
The Sun City Center Men's Club donated a new car to transport our residents to medical appointments and daily errands. The 2023 Camry Hybrid is a welcome addition to our fleet. Bob Sullivan, Men's Club president, stated, The assistance Samaritan Services gives residents, aligns with the Men's Club values. The Men's Club is widely known for Lifeline, but they have also donated pool chair lifts (KP), automatic doors (SCC,KP) and manikins for the Emergency Squad. We are very appreciative and grateful to the Men's Club for their generosity. This new car is equipped with the latest safety features. it is also very fuel efficient, which will save money on gasoline throughout its' lifetime. The car has been 'wrapped' with the Men's Club name and logo to show the residents the Men's Club commitment to our community.
When you see a Men's Club Member, please be sure to Thank them for their very generous and benevolent donation.

Donate to Samaritan Services
As a 501(c)3, our workforce, consisting of drivers, dispatchers, and receptionists, is all volunteer and there is never a charge to our clients. In order to maintain our fleet of 7 cars for in-town and out-of-town rides, including auto insurance and gasoline, we rely on grants and donations from the community. We receive no funds from the CA (Community Association). Your contribution will help us continue to transport the residents of Sun City Center, Kings Point, Freedom Plaza, Aston Gardens and Sun Towers to medical appointments and daily errands. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will be used prudently. Thank You for your support.
